“You have to come to your closed doors before you get to your open doors… What if you knew you had to go through 32 closed doors before you got to your open door? Well, then you’d come to closed door number eight and you’d think, ‘Great, I got another one out of the way’… Keep moving forward.” ~ Joel Osteen
A Thought Worth Thinking About…
Sometimes just the idea of moving terrifies us when we are on shaky ground.
And when we lose something important to us, we feel as if we are stuck in quicksand… or are in the middle of an 8.0 earthquake.
But the truth is, if we remain on sinking sand or are being tossed around in a quake… we too will die.
We have to move.
For some this will be very difficult as they do not believe there is anywhere to move to… no future worth living… just life stuck in the echo chambers of the past.
But, move we must. It is a life and death issue.
Our life.
So the question becomes, is the idea of moving ON the same as moving FORWARD?
To some, moving on implies forgetting the past…
Forward (via Merriam-Webster) can be defined as “moving, tending, or leading toward a position in front.” It indicates a forward movement. It says nothing about leaving something behind, but rather a tendency toward movement. “Moving on” somehow says we are leaving something behind for good, and in a way, we are.
We are moving on without our loved ones.
This doesn’t mean we have forgotten anything — in fact, our memories are ignited following a loss.
As for me, I believe ANY movement is a good thing… forward, backward, side to side, even running in circles!
Sooner or later we will find our Authentic Direction and move towards that!
The key is AUTHENTICITY in motion.
Why not take a moment to determine who you must become to find the life you will love?
This is a huge issue for most people—many are stranded in time, simply hoping someone or something hands them the keys to their future.
If you are stuck between your old life and the new life you desire, please don’t give up.
My suggestion would be to do all the exercises in Success On Purpose to find the meaning in life you so desperately seek.
You just need to find your direction first, then the rest is easy!
