Grace Counselor Leadership Resources Home

“This page contains a tremendous amount of information on how we communicate with members and customers. Our objective is to provide inspiration, information, ideas for action, and a framework for moving from the classic elements of grief—depression, anger, denial, bargaining, and acceptance of our loss—to life above the valley of despair. The longer a person remains grief-stricken, the longer they live in pain and sorrow.

My personal mission is to see 5 million happy faces replace the tear-stained eyes of a population stranded in emotional hell. With our help, they can experience the healing power of Grace.” ~ Eric Richard Haas, Author

A Moment of Grace

Resources for Grace Counselors...

Mission: Building a bridge of Grace over the world’s river of tears.

Take a breath, calm your thoughts, then THINK about this quote…

“Make intercessory prayer a priority in your life and the life of your family. It will cause you to be more empathetic, less self-obsessed, and increasingly more like Christ.” ~ Monica Johnson

  Or this scripture passage…

“If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion – how can God’s love be in that person? Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.” 1 John 3:17, 18 (NLT)

1. Facilitator Handouts…

Rather than include a Leader’s Guide within Grieve With Grace™, we are including a constantly updated page Facilitators may freely use to introduce and discuss all the important ideas within the book and resources found here online. The curriculum is based on my candlelight love story wrapped in a complete explanation of GRACE: Gratitude, Resilience, Authenticity, Creativity, and Empathy.

Since we all learn in different ways, I urge you to listen to the Audio Book Edition to reinforce what you learned while reading my story. Add to this engagement with these online resources and you will see we leave no stone unturned. You will experience a consistency of vision aimed at quickly moving you and your clients from deep sorrow and grief to an entirely new life.

Many people remain stranded in grief and have been convinced their grief will last forever. This is not true.

Our mission is to get you to the point Beyond Acceptance of your loss to understand how to reach the point of Acceptance of the responsibility to create an entirely new life With Grace.

I highly recommend that you click the GRACE stone above and invest time in understanding our core concepts. As you know, people seeking relief from the emotional toll of grief are actually seeking answers to their real-world situations. Your style might be very spiritual or more psychological but in any case, it is essential you understand the healing power of GRACE.

So, Session 1, week 1 is an understanding of personal loss and our need for GRACE to overcome GRIEF. You will see that our approach is complementary to programs such as Grief Share. If you are also facilitating Grief Share meetings, you will find this much more conversational and actionable. We want people to experience the benefits of GRACE, not just commiserate with others on their loss. As you proceed you will want to hand out the various graphics we have created to explain the process.

You may right-click on any image and download the file without modification. We also give you permission to use the graphics you find on any of our resource pages when you are presenting the program in full. This permission may be revoked at any time. Permission is not granted to reproduce the audios, books, or any other product without our express written consent.

This is a highly interactive system.

So, from week 2 through week 7, you will need to review each of the Learn More links associated with GRACE in this site’s navigation bar. Watch the short video, and put yourself in your client’s shoes. For example, you will find the constructive text from the book on GRATITUDE. As you scroll down you will see the fill-in-the-blanks section broken into two parts: Accepting Your Loss and Accepting Responsibility for moving on/forward.

Again, you may freely copy the questions and print them in a handout. Depending on your audience, you may only want the first 5 from each section, or better, send them to the proper link on this site. For those who are not computer-savvy, ask them to review, answer, and be ready to discuss their handwritten responses during the following session.

Ultimately, this is a much simpler program than others. It is gaited and easy to understand. We recommend…

  • You read the book…
  • Listen to the audiobook to reinforce key concepts…
  • Follow the email program each day…
  • Engage with all the resources on this site as they are fully integrated with the expectation that you learn through doing…
  • You help others manage their emotions and hopes by helping them understand that, until they build a bridge across their river of tears, they will be sucked into a flood of hopelessness and despair…
  • Many will get stuck in the swirling waters of change. They must be taught to escape their anger, depression, bargaining, denial, and all the other emotional negatives that cause us harm…
  • Especially for people who have experienced long periods of pre-grief… watching their loved ones suffer from diseases for years. Recognizing that we are all human and can only take so much, we must carefully and thoughtfully help them move beyond shock and trauma by raising their State of Grace.

This concentrated program is the result of my trying to cope with the loss of my wonderful wife of 30 years.

I attended many grief counseling sessions before I realized they were reinforcing my grief, not helping me move beyond it.

Sad people crying for years suggested to me there must be a better way.

I then moved on to GriefShare at my church. While better, it was still focused on understanding and sharing my grief. Many of the people had gone through the program 2-3-4 times over the years and were not better—just stuck in place.

Understanding and commiserating with others is not what we want. A new life following our loss is our universal objective.

Moving forward is not the same as forgetting our loved ones. Holding onto the past only robs us of our future.

I am more grateful today for Jan than I ever was. More resilient… more authentic… more creative… and more empathetic than ever before.

The principles of GRACE are universal. They offer the healing power of love over loss.

As a Grace Counselor, your job is simple—help people create a bridge across their river of tears.

With your skills and our tools, we will help millions span the gap between our past and a wonderful new future!

2. Below are links within our automated eMail System…

This is a highly concentrated program designed to make Grace an important part of your client’s healing process. The issue is permitting folks to live in a perpetual state of gloom: Depression, Anger, Denial, etc. or help them find life after grief through Grace. Leah frames this idea beautifully…

Additionally, there are 5 stones with 7 days of content that are triggered when a person purchases any Grieve With Grace product including the eBook or printed edition, audiobook, or the full system.

Following are the initial starter eMail + a link for the content to all 36 emails. As their advisor, it is important you sync your conversation with the reminder system we employ.

Starter…

The GWG email system is automated, and triggered by 2 events:

  1. A person becomes a MEMBER which triggers a welcome email, and 6 emails about 3-4 days apart, or until he/she purchases. During this time we provide comfort and information leading them to participate.
  2. When a person purchases any product, book, system, etc, this moves the member to CUSTOMER/client status where they will receive a starter email then 7 days on each stone. The endpoint is compassionate learning but constantly moving from being stuck or stranded—just accepting their lot in life—to accepting responsibility for their life after grief.

A client is then encouraged to listen and learn, discover, and do.

If you sold the program to a client, please help them complete their sale online so they do not miss out on our important flow of daily communications. You may process their card info and make sure their downloads are activated. If you purchased printed books by the carton, you collect the money and mark their account paid via your affiliate number.

Completing the sale is what triggers the built-in services each client is entitled to. When you become a GRACE Affiliate, all your payment and how to process orders questions will be answered!

The healing process continues with active involvement with our Grace Journals. Direct links to each are below each stone. When you click that link, you will be taken to your Grace Journal and summary of each chapter in Grieve With Grace. It is essential Grace Counselors fill in all responses to the questions posed on each page. You will understand the importance of connecting what you already know about grief counseling with the healing power of Grace.

You will also notice that we place a heavy emphasis on personal VALUES in each of our emails. If you want to live a life that matters, you must know what is valuable to you. This program is highly structured around the idea that we have only one life to live and if we do not have a clear understanding of our values, we are simply spending it on things that simply do not matter. To learn more about this important concept, see Success On Purpose…

3. Conclusion…

Everyone has a story. We want to hear yours.

Please invite your members to share their experiences and progress.

We understand that each story is personal but carries hope for the teller as well as the listener.

We always want to hear from you and invite you to contact us at any time. If you have a question or comment, please do share!

Unfortunately, personal loss is never a one-time event. Throughout our lives, we will experience grief and will need to replace it with GRACE.

Grieve With Grace is not just a book but a collection of tools you will need for the rest of your life.

My prayer is that you learn to use these tools and share them with everyone who needs to turn their grief into a stepping stone to the life they will love.
